劇団「すずしろ」は 2004 年 10 月箕面市中央生涯学習ｾﾝﾀ ― の市民企画講座「 60 歳からの演劇入門」をきっかけに誕生した大阪府箕面市に拠点を置くアマチュア劇団です。

  
Suzushiro Theater Company was formed in 2004 with a mission to provide activities and purpose in life for seniors after their retirement.
  
 

劇団名の「すずしろ」は ダイコン の 別称。その名の通り団員の多くが６０代まで芝居経験のない素人ばかり。現在、６０歳から８４歳までの団員２２名で構成されています。これまで、定期公演に加え、地域文化振興財団などによる招聘公演、ワ−クショツプ･演劇入門クラス講座開講、他劇団への客演など、演劇を通した文化交流事業を活発に展開してきました。2009 年は 5 月 31 日に定期公演を箕面市メイプルホ−ルにて開催。

The company holds 25 actors ages 60 to 81, some of them with some theatrical experience, most of them none. However their motto is to provide quality shows that can satisfy general audience. Such effort has been rewarded by full house performances and increasing interests. Suzushiro's action caused a city wide senior theater boom. Mino city, Suzushiro's base city,will now be hosting annual Mino senior theater festival.

  
 
１１月には箕面市生涯学習推進センターにて、大阪府内の公民館や生涯学習センターの関係者が集う大阪府公民館大会が箕面市立中央生涯学習センターで開催され、招聘公演として『煙が目にしみる』を上演しました。また、 2010 年 1 月 28 日　にも大阪府公民館振興協議会からの依頼で同公演を上演、 2010 年 4 月箕面市文化振興事業団の共催でニューヨーク公演プレ事業を予定しています。
 
While other cities are following suit, Suzushiro strides further to reach beyond the border.2010 New York production will be their first attempt to converse with seniors and performing artists overseas. Their mission is to extend the joy of active life as a senior, as well sending message to the younger generations that it is never too late to challenge for new things. This tour will also be filmed as a documentary and will be broadcasted in Japan .
